Boasting in Our Weakness: The Surprising Power of God’s Grace
“Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.”
~2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NASB)
We all face challenges that seem overwhelming. How should we respond? Many times we run away, fearing that our weaknesses will be exposed. Other times we fake it or hide, terrified of being found inadequate. Yet, God says to us, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
So, what exactly is God teaching us in our weakness? How is His grace sufficient? How do we trade our “poser power” for real power? How do we find Christ-like courage and strength to face our challenges, even in the midst of our weakness? Join us for the 2014 Men’s Conference as we consider what it means to live in the surprising power of God’s grace.
Christ Redeemer Church, in conjunction with Christ Memorial Church, is hosting the 2014 Men’s Conference in Plainfield, New Hampshire. There will be snacks, challenging talks, good fellowship, and a game of snow touch football. College students are welcome and encouraged to attend.
