At the end of 2013, Jeff Fan spent six weeks in Bamenda, Cameroon serving at Gospel Baptist Church. Gospel Baptist Church was planted by Shadrach Vegah, who trained at NETS Institute of Church Planting in Williston, VT. Christ Redeemer Church supports the work of Pastor Vegah through NETS.
Jeff shared reflections of his time in Bamenda with the congregation. You can listen to his reflections here.
While he was in Cameroon he also recorded two video messages for the congregation. The first is from Pastor Shadrach Vegah. The audio levels are low, so a transcript also follows.
“I am Shadrach Vegah, the pastor-church planter of Gospel Baptist Church. We are very thankful to Christians at CRC for sending out Jeff to come to Cameroon for this short-term missions trip. Jeff was a wonderful blessing to us, he preached two messages and has led in many seminars to encourage and build the saints here, and we are very thankful. Here at Gospel, the Lord has been blessing the work, almost 450 per worship service now. There is strong giving, there are many who are desiring to grow in the knowledge of the gospel, so we are thankful to God, and we want to ask that the Christians in CRC to keep praying for us, and praying that God will keep on raising more workers and more persons to come out here to support us in this short-term missions work so that we can build up the church of Christ in Gospel Baptist Church and Cameroon. Thank you very much, God bless you all.”
The second message is from Sas Blair from Christ Memorial Church in Vermont. He is currently serving in Bamenda.
Hello everyone, my name is Sas Blair and I was sent here to Cameroon by Christ Memorial Church in Vermont. I’m serving for the purpose of the gospel here at Gospel Baptist Church in Bamenda, Cameroon, and I’m here to assist pastor Shadrach in almost anything that he needs and to do maintenance on the building. But, I’m also here in Cameroon to be a good witness of our Lord Jesus Christ and with evangelism, and also with a drama team that has been started right here at this church. For prayer requests, just pray that I would be able to continue to do the Lord’s work.
